★SPECIAL ELECTION★
Tuesday January 7, 2025
Former Democratic Candidate for U.S. Congress and Mineral resident Jack Trammell secured the nomination from the Democratic party as candidate for the special election for Virginia Senate District 10 early in the evening of December 2nd. The date of the special election cannot be announced until Congressman-elect, and current Senator VA10, John McGuire formally resigns his seat.
Trammell, a teacher and educational leader, has begun hiring staff and consultants, as well as continuing a series of visits to local committees and venues in the district in his bid to flip an important state senate seat. Tonight, speaking to Democrats in Fluvanna County, Trammell emphasized the importance of demographic changes in the district.
“This district is changing as we speak,” Trammell says. “It is obviously gerrymandered, but the plan for that originated years ago. Since that time Charlottesville has literally grown east, Richmond westward, and the small towns in-between more economically viable with the broadband Abigail Spanberger and others facilitated in bringing to rural areas including my own. This district is much more diverse than people assume.”
Trammell decided to run because he insists that, “a two-party system only works if we have viable candidates on both sides. That ensures everyone’s voice is heard before votes are cast.”
Trammell’s campaign can be reached at the contacts above, with more social media and information continuing to go live in the next days.
